LEE, Jocelyn M. 'Joey' (nee Hodge)

Joey died peacefully on May 4 in Toronto. She is survived by husband Professor Douglas Lee, and children James, Mary (Stephen Patterson), Peggy (Dylan van der Schyff), and Eric, (Rebecca Morton). She leaves grandchildren Dexter and Curtis van der Schyff, Jocelyn and Laura Patterson and Claire and Lucie Lee-Coudouel. Joey also leaves her dearest friend Ann MacIntosh Duff and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in Canada and the United States.

Joey is predeceased by her sister Margaret (Peggy) Hodge Leake of Bennington, VT (Richard), foster sister Nancy Fraser Brooks (Vernon), and foster brothers Dr. Donald Fraser Jr. (Sally Miller) and Ian Fraser (Kathleen Wittick).

Doug and the family offer heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Christie Gardens for their consistently dedicated care. At her request, Joey's remains will support medical education at the University of Toronto. A memorial will be held at a date to be established. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that donations be made to the Christie Gardens Foundation or other deserving charity.

Sheila MacFeeters

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila MacFeeters, on April 6, 2017, at Soldiers Memorial Hospital in Orillia. Originally diagnosed with brain cancer in 2009, Sheila defied her medical prognosis and although there were many setbacks as her illness progressed, she and husband Michael enjoyed their life together on Lake Couchiching, ably assisted by family, friends and caregivers.

Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate her life at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto (east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave, 416-485-5572) on Tuesday, April 18 at 11:30 A.M., followed by a reception in the Visitation Centre.

Memorial donations to MacFeeters Hamilton Centre for Neuro-Oncology Fund at the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.

Jack "Jackie" Legault (April 3, 1941 - March 13, 2017)

With great sadness we note the passing of Jack Legault, former owner of Georgian Bay Landing, after a lengthy and painful battle with cancer.

 Jack entered into rest at the Georgian Bay General Hospital on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Judy (nee Longlad). Predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Irene Legault. Dear brother of Norma Budarick (Lawrence), Veronica McDermott (Mike) and the late Ethel Legault. Devoted father figure to Ashly Dorion (Steve) and Adam Cole (Dana). Grandpa Jack to MacKinly and Lexi Dorion. He is fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at the Waubaushene Legion, 26 Willow Street on Saturday, April 22nd from 1-4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation or the Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to LeClair Cremation Centre

Again, due to poor ice conditions Robert was unable to access many cottages. Efforts to inspect all cottages are ongoing. See his notes at the end of the report.

David Copp

After 90 splendid years, David Copp passed away on February 22, 2017 at home in Elora, supported with love by his family.  He is survived by Mary, his beloved wife of 67 years, and children Andrew (Irene) and their children Dr. Jon Copp and Alex; Catherine (David) and Leslie (Christopher) and their children Emily and Peter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday March 11 at St. John's Church, 33 Henderson Street, Elora at 1pm.   In memoriam donations, if desired, may be made to Georgian Bay Forever (P.O Box 163 Stn Main, Bolton, On L7E 9Z9, online at gbf.org) or through Graham A. Barbara Harris (Site 111)

Barbara (Drew-Brook) Harris

Sustained by her loving family and friends, supported by outstanding caregivers, Barbara died peacefully at home on February 7, at the age of 92.

She was deeply loved by her family and friends and her late husband Bobs. After serving as a Wren in World War II, raising a family, and cherishing glorious summers at Go Home Bay, she pursued a lifelong love of gems and jewellery and became a certified gemmologist and fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.

She leaves her children: daughter Nancy and her husband Tony Reid and their children Stephanie (Jeff), Daniel (Kristin), Natalie (Matt), and David (Leigh); daughter Janet and her husband Jon Reid and their sons Giles (Adriana) and Julian; son Robert and his wife Penny and their children Rose and Robert; daughter Pam and her daughters Maddie and Emma. Delighted great-grandmother to Lucy, Chloe, and Isla; William and Simon; Roman; and Sam.

A memorial gathering will be held later this spring. In memoriam donations, if desired, may be made to Emily's House: a special place for kids (Donation address: 558 Gerrard Street East, Toronto, M4M 1X8).
